Bachman Leads in Recent Poll, Paul Surges to Third

Michelle Bachmann has taken the lead in the 2012 Iowa Caucuses according to a new American Research Group poll with 21%.  Mitt Romney has fallen to second with 18%, while Ron Paul showed a significant sign of movement by coming in a close third with 14%.  Paul had been polling  consistently around 9 to 10% before this poll.

*Sample Size: 600 completed telephone interviews among a random sample of likely Republican caucus goers living in Iowa (505 Republicans and 95 no party (independent) voters).  Sample Dates: July 5-11, 2011

Margin of Error: ± 4 percentage points, 95% of the time, on questions where opinion is evenly split.

If the 2012 Republican presidential caucus were being held today between (names rotated) Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, Rudy Giuliani, Jon Huntsman, Gary Johnson, Sarah Palin, Ron Paul, Tim Pawlenty, Rick Perry, Charles Roemer, Mitt Romney, and Rick Santorum, for whom would you vote?
