herman-cainIn a recent Public Policy Polling poll Herman Cain has vaulted into the number one slot in Iowa with 30% of GOP support besting former front runner, Mitt Romney, who continues to slip with 22%.

Poll Result

Cain  30%
Mitt Romney 22%
Ron Paul 10%
Rick Perry 9%
Newt Gingrich 8%
Michele Bachmann 8%
Rick Santorum 5%
Jon Huntsman 5%
Gary Johnson 1%

*PPP surveyed 311 probable Iowa caucusgoers from October 7th to 10th. The margin of
error for the survey is +/-5.6%. This poll was not paid for or authorized by any campaign
or political organization. PPP surveys are conducted through automated telephone
interviews. PPP is a Democratic polling company, but polling expert Nate Silver of the
New York Times found that its surveys in 2010 actually exhibited a slight bias toward
Republican candidates.

As a former Ross Perot supporter, I would still like to see a businessman as president; we’ve seen that politicians are predominantly unable to solve our fiscal problems.

Now more than ever, “it’s the economy, stupid.”

However, at this point, I am getting on the Ron Paul Express. He is the only experienced candidate that says what he means and doesn’t backtrack on comments when asked to explain them. Paul may be lacking in the charisma dept., but not in integrity.

Pres. Obama rode the charisma train to the White House, and has let us down ever since.

But will America elect someone who is not a silver-tongued political superstar?

We better. Or we will have more of what we’ve had for the last 11 years. Disaster.
