New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s is in Iowa today headlining a fundraiser for longtime GOP Gov. Terry Branstad, who’s running for re-election this year. Christie is the chairman of the Republican Governors Association, so on the face of it, the trip isn’t related to the 2016 Iowa Caucus. Chrisite will also help raise money for the RGA and for Republican Iowa House Speaker Kraig Paulsen.
During a question-and-answer session, one business leader asked Christie – how do you begin to do turn around the economy at the federal level?
Christie answered that you have to reform entitlements, establish a more business friendly tax code and repatriate foreign profits.
After Thursday morning’s exclusive $25,000-a-pop fundraiser for Republican governors Christie will make an appearance at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport that is open to the public, so a little campaigning for 2016 is going on here.
