Cruz Tops Trump in Most Recent Iowa poll

Source: Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Poll.  500 likely Republican caucusgoers Jan 7-10.

Senator Ted Cruz and Donald Trump continue to flip in the top spot of the polls while Ben Carson continues to sink, and the establishment candidates fight for the remaining crumbs.

Ted Cruz —— 25%
Donald Trump — 22%
Marco Rubio — 12%
Ben Carson —- 11%
Rand Paul —— 5%
Jeb Bush ——- 4%
Chris Christie – 3%

No surprise in the data which shows the strong support for an anti-establishment candidate.

The poll shows that voters do not really care about Ted Cruz being born in Canada:

What is going on with Republicans in Iowa? We will not beat Hillary with Trump or Cruz. It is simple math.
We need a good Conservative with experience. John Kasich might not be exciting, but he stands a chance against Hillary.
Maybe Chris Christie, though he may be a bit Liberal, he would fair much better in a head-to-head match up with Hillary.
    Wake up Iowa!!!

As a Canadian watching this race closely, I have to agree with your Kasich choice. I wouldn’t trust Christie any further than I could throw him though. Santorum would be my second choice only because he has been honest even when it is unpopular.

Trump will beat either and all. Everyone who wants jobs to come back to America, everyone who wants to see illegals go, everyone who wants America to have a border wall along their southern border wants Trump. If it is anyone else, these things won’t happen.

Watching the GOP as a Liberal I cant see any of the Republicans beating Hillary. However Iowa Democrats will go with the Socialist and the Right wing will take the election.

How is Rand Paul not being mentioned as your top Republican Conservative?

Actually trump has huge support among working class of all races.. Something the Republicans supposedly want.

Actually….Rand Paul is clearly the best candidate of all to be president of this great Nation…..before we implode.

Cruz is for BS-11-B Visa’s that take AMerican jobs wants to increase it to 500K which is bringing in more people from INDIA to take more american jobs,.Check out his record in Texas, Cruz is a good BULL SHIT artist , hot air talk, but if he won, it would be business as usual….check it out.

Cruz certainly not. Lies, concealments, shifty and slimy, sleazy are apt words for the guy.
And may be dragged to the courts regarding his Canadian/Cuban roots.

Trump’s anger is at the stupidity of the current decision makers/ rulers in the nation. Too blunt, politically incorrect, but that is what the nation needs now. Other negatives don’t matter. Once he becomes the POTUS, he will rise to the occasion.

madhen- are you sure you are not talking about Trump? I dont think you have your facts straight about Cruz. He is getting attacked from all sides. He is the front runner for a reason. He knows what he is doing and knows what he is talking about.

  6. Sober2ndThought

Wake-up! Trump should be selling useless crap on infomercials-not leading the USA! We would all feel just as ripped off after the sealing the deal and probably violated!

Get a proven rational leader with an uninflated ego. A rational voice with proven political know-how will make Hilary’s indiscretions and raw entitlement look completely distasteful!

Cruz is a liar and he is part of the establishment already. Rand Paul – too short. We need a bully like other countries have. One that is not bought and paid for, one that is not politically correct, one that knows about business, we need TRUMP!

Why do people want to keep destroying their livelihoods with “free traders”, backed by Goldman Sachs, who was for significantly increasing immigration quotas, then wasn’t, a wife attached to the Council on Foreign Relations and just another politician. How bout we try a businessman who can create jobs

  8. American Farmer

If Iowa does not support TRUMP, he still leads in the nation overall. Maybe then when he is President, he will take Iowa out of this early caucus. Cruz belongs in Canada, not in America.

All you Americans who are against Donald Trump need to wake up and smell the air in this Country. He is the only man that can do what he says. We have had too many Bush’s in Office in the past he offers nothing, Ben Carson needs to go home and stay there. We need a man who is going to fight the establishment and Trump does just that. This country needs a big shake up and not passive people. Washington the Political scene is very worried about Trump, because he will fire all of them who are taking graph under the table, they will loose all the money they are taking from us. Did you ever think why their not on Social Security, because they don’t want the Government to spend their SS on Useless programs. They spend our hard earned SS as they see fit and there is not check and balance on our funds.

Angry at Washington? Washington is angry at Ted Cruz.

Wake up folks. That is a good thing!

He will not play ball unless it’s right for America.
He’s our man! A long time constitutional conservative too – not just became conservative to win the presidency.
His tithing is a private matter. Maybe he chooses to not report it. Some don’t you know.
