Walker Calls for Constitutional Amendment after SCOTUS Ruling

scott walker 2016Iowa Caucus front runner, Governor Scott Walker, stated that America should amend the Constitution to protect marriage after the high court ruled 5-4 that same-sex couples could marry across the country, overturning a number of state same-sex marriage bans.
“Recognizing that our Founders made our Constitution difficult to amend, I am reminded that it was first amended to protect our ‘First Freedom’ — the free exercise of religion,” Mr. Walker said.
“As a result of this decision, the only alternative left for the American people is to support an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to reaffirm the ability of the states to continue to define marriage,” “to protect the institution of marriage from exactly this type of judicial activism.” Walker said in the statement.

Why does the court always seem to lean Liberal? I don’t think it matters who we elect as president. This country country is in trouble.
Not a big fan of Walker, but maybe it’s time for someone who is different like Rand Paul.

If my history serves me correctly, an amendment to the constitution was already attempted. Something about a Defense of Marriage act. I doubt an attempt will go any better this time around, since the liberals still hold too many seats in congress. This will just end up being another useless waste of time, instead of focusing our efforts on actions that will actually make a difference. If any of these candidates want a real chance at becoming president, they will need to come up with something that the liberals won’t just shoot down in a hot minute.
